I know it is an old bottle but why does it have a hole in its base? Does anybody know if it's worth anything? They said it weighs more than a kilogram but I do not know what it is made of.

I don't think that's a bottle at all because of the hole at the base. If I'm not mistaken that is a World War II mortar shell called "ni." (Japanese)

That's similar to what the "juetengeros" use to draw numbers from, hehe...not kidding, I went with a "kubrador" once in Baguio to their hideout and that's the kind of jug they used. Is that metal or clay, if it's metal, Kayni maybe right. Then give it to the NPA's ta baka mausar da pay, hehe....cheers!
Hmmm... Di ko alam kung ano yan. Yeah, it looks like a bottle to me. Pero it's been positively identified by Kayni as a mortar shell. Kung may napala ka jan, sis, palibre ha? Hehehe...
Hi Kayni, thanks for that info. I googled antique bottles, old bottles, etc and was not able to find one with a hole. Beats me :) It isn't a bottle after all.
oii trublue, siguro mananaya ka ng jueteng anoh?! :)
bru, magbago ka naman na! international ka na nga eh pagpapalibre pa rin ang inaatupag mo! nyahahahahah Dyok lng kadi!
hi bill, I would basta matuloy ang pagpapakape mo! :) Han kadi, it's not mine. My dad asked my help lang in identifying it for his treasurehunter friend yata so i told them to email me a pic. Ayun, bala pala ng kanyon! ANo ba yun!? LOLZ

Kaano ngata nga maik-kat daytoy "mortar" idtoy blog ni Ganda. Baka ag-explode ket awan ti pagpaspas yarakon, hehehe.... hoy gising!!! Cheers and goodhealth.....
It's like a "sinaunang bottomless" bottle to me. Pero bala nga naman talaga. Though following Trublue, mabalin pay pangbingo where numbers are drawn. Hehe.
yah, the people who found it thought it's something of value. I should have asked for it and gave it to Bill (from the boondocks) na lang. He seemed to have a penchant for strange looking bottles. :)
This morning, Sarah, Norman, and I started reading Sara's translation of Jeremiah. (For non-translators: This is called committee checking where the translation team tries to improve a draft by agreement and disagreement, rejecting or accepting, etc. the words, structure, etc, used to express the exegesis (meaning) of the texts. Jeremiah is a difficult book, I just found out! We have a hard time translating the passages where God is very angry. What tone would God use to speak when He is angry or jealous? For a language like Kalanguya, which depends so much on speech intonation and discourse particles for meaning, these are questions that arise when we translate. Committee checking is a difficult process. It calls for humility, presence of mind, attention to detail and sensitivity from all members. If you are the drafter then you have to remove yourself from your work. KEEP DI...
