UPDATE ON MAEMAE

After various tests including unltrasound of the abdomen, it was found out today that Maemae has a blocked and swollen intestine, medically called ILEUS-- a condition where a part of the intestine (large or small) is blocked or in this case of paralytic ileus, the bowel or intestine stops its peristaltic activity.  Treatment of this sickness is quite invasive since it might require total bowel rest, meaning the patient shall be required to fast for a few days.  Later on, a naso-gastric tube (a tube put into the nose through the nasal cavity then into the stomach) might be inserted for waste evacuation purposes and probably a surgery to empty the dysfunctional bowel and to correct the blockage.  Those are the treatments being considered but as of now, the doctor is keeping Maemae in a steady IV flow to give nutrients to her body.  She is also on that very expensive medicine to reduce the swelling of the intestine before any other treatment shall be done.  Hopefully the medicine will also be able to activate peristalsis of the intestine so that surgery will not have to be done.

Hello, sorry to know Maemae had been sick and what she is going through in such a very tender age.She is a brave adorable little girl. Will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for this update.

ADDICTIONS

My addictions are weird but I think these are not unique to me.  I have three addictions and I am very glad that I have overcome one of them, at least for now.   #SUGAR_ADDICT  Over a month ago, I was probably one of the worst sugar/carb addict there is.  Since I was diagnosed with diabetes almost three decades ago, I went into a rollercoaster of dieting and fasting and binge eating.  I would weigh myself, get disgusted with what I see and resolve to eat nothing for a week. I would lose 10kg, then the following week, I would eat all the calories that I restricted myself from and more.  Then in April of last year I tried the ketogenic diet and it was working for a month or so until an aunt commented that I will get all wrinkly and saggy if I lose too much weight and my mind used that statement as an excuse to go back to my standard way of eating which has always left me feeling and looking bloated, inflamed, fat, and ugly.  It also aggravated all my health issues specially w
